How to play Songless Unlimited Free
Songless is a music guessing game built around tiny clips. Every Songless round starts with just 0.1 seconds of a song, and your job is to name the track from as little audio as you can.
- Press the big play button to hear the clip. Play it as many times as you like.
- Start typing the song title or the artist, then pick the song from the list.
- Press Guess. If you are right, you score the points shown next to the clip.
- Wrong guess, or no idea? Press Skip to unlock more of the clip: 0.5 s, then 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 seconds.
- After the last step the round ends and the song is revealed, with its full preview and a link to Apple Music.
Five songs make a Songless game. In Unlimited mode the next Songless game starts straight away, so you can keep going for as long as you like.

Songless tips for guessing faster
- Ask “do I know this?” first. Before you try to name the song, decide whether the sound feels familiar. That tells you whether to guess now or skip.
- Listen to the texture, not the melody. In 0.1 seconds there is no tune, only timbre: a distorted guitar, an 808 kick, a breathy voice. Genre and era jump out first.
- Search by artist. If you recognise the voice but not the song, type the artist and scan their songs in the list.
- Skip early on unknown sounds. A wrong guess costs the same as a skip, so there is no penalty for guessing when you have a real hunch.
- Replay the clip. You can play each step as often as you like. Many players get it on the third listen.
What can you hear in 0.1 seconds?
A tenth of a second is shorter than a single syllable, so it is reasonable to ask how anyone can name a song from it. The answer is that recognition is not only about melody. Every recording has a sonic fingerprint: the tone of the singer, the instruments, the way it was mixed and mastered. Listeners who know a song well recognise that fingerprint almost instantly.
Pop songs also start faster than they used to. Long instrumental intros have become rare, and many hits open with the hook or the voice in the very first second, which is exactly what a Songless clip catches. Older songs with slow intros tend to be harder, which is why the clip grows as you skip.

Songless questions
Is Songless Unlimited Free really free?
Yes. Every Songless mode on PlayAnytime is free, with no account, no download and no daily limit.
Is there an unlimited Songless?
Yes, this page. Play the daily Songless round of five songs, then switch to Unlimited for as many songs as you like, or try Endless mode.
How does Songless work?
You hear the first tenth of a second of a song and try to name it. Every skip or wrong guess unlocks more of the clip: 0.5 s, 1 s, 2 s, 4 s, 8 s and finally 16 s. The less you need, the more points you score.
Can you really guess a song in 0.1 seconds?
On a song you know well, often yes. A tenth of a second is one drum hit or part of a vowel, and the sound of a voice or a mix is surprisingly recognisable. It earns the full 1,000 points.
Where do the clips come from?
The clips are Apple Music previews, provided courtesy of Apple. After each round you can hear the full 30-second preview and open the song on Apple Music.
Which songs are in Songless Unlimited Free?
Current chart hits from the US, UK, Canada and Australia plus hundreds of well-known songs from the 1950s to today, across pop, rock, hip-hop, R&B, country and dance.
Is this the official Songless?
No. Songless Unlimited Free is PlayAnytime’s own take on the idea, with our own song list, scoring and design. It is not affiliated with Songless or its creators. You can play the original at songless.org.
